Why Traveling Fishes?

I was in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio in 2019 - a quick stop before continuing on to western New York to visit family. It's a really fun, interactive museum and I had a blast there. At one of the stations, you can create stickers with your band name and logo. I had just listened to and read about one of my favorite bands, the Traveling Wilburys with the great Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, and Tom Petty. I've been a fish biologist for over 20 years and, like many, many people, I love to travel. Large and small travel - from the next town over to the backcountry trails of Wyoming to the city streets of Buenos Aires to the mountains of Bhutan. I enjoy it all. I feel like a better, more accepting person with a better perspective after traveling to over 40 countries (so far!). Anyway, I love all things fish and all things travel and couldn't think of a better 'band' name than Traveling Fishes. Tight lines and travel on!
